Counseling for Sexual Issues

Rachael offers a holistic approach to counseling for sexual issues that honors the complexity of human sexuality. She helps clients to engage their own story so that they can move from a place of shame-based behavior modification to a place of curiosity, freedom, and passion. She combines a variety of therapeutic methods such as sensate focus therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and EMDR along with appropriate medical referrals to empower clients toward real change and healing.

EMDR Therapy

Rachael uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as a focused approach to bring relief and healing for a variety of issues, including single-incident or complex trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias, panic disorders and more. EMDR therapy is a highly effective and extensively researched method that is designed to alleviate distress caused by traumatic or disturbing life events. It combines bilateral stimulation such as eye movement or tapping with the reprocessing of distressing memories to “un-stick” the brain and body from the stress response created during the original experience. Rachael is joyfully married to Jake, who asked her on their first date beside a porta-potty, and together they are raising two delightful and energetic boys. She loves to cook and bake, can usually be found with a warm beverage in hand, and is overly invested in houseplants she can’t seem to keep alive.
