Theresa Woodard

PhD, LPC-S

Dr. Theresa A. Woodard is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Board Qualified Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S). She is native of Gloster, MS, and the youngest of five siblings from her parents’ union. Along with her husband, Ty Bonds and their 3 dogs, Theresa resides in Rankin County, MS. She is a family oriented person who enjoys spending time celebrating life’s moments with her family and friends. In her “spare time,” Theresa can be found performing karaoke in her one woman band, live from her at-home billiard’s “lounge” (it’s actually the garage)!

Theresa is a proud alumna and two time graduate of Thee Jackson State University,  where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree (2005) and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Clinical Psychology (2015).

For the past 15 years, Theresa has provided clinical services (therapy, psychological evaluation/assessment services) to children, adolescents, and adults who have presented with a wide range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, self-injurious behavior, substance use/dependence, disruptive behavior disorders, and personality disorders. Theresa has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). However, she uses an eclectic approach in therapy and incorporates tenets from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology with a focus on empowerment, mindfulness, and wellness.

Psychological Testing

Psychological tests and assessments are a way for mental health clinicians, typically psychologists, to gather and integrate data to evaluate a person’s behavior, abilities, and other characteristics, particularly for the purposes of making a diagnosis or treatment recommendation. Using various testing methods and testing instruments, psychologists assess diverse psychiatric problems (e.g., anxiety, depression, OCD, addictive behaviors) and non-psychiatric concerns (e.g., intelligence, learning disabilities, career interests) in a range of clinical, educational, organizational, forensic, and other settings.

A guiding philosophy in Theresa's life is "to whom much is given, much is required." With this in mind, Theresa believes it is her duty and life's purpose to use her gifts in the provision of quality mental health and psychological services.
